Energy and Petroleum Cabinet Secretary Mr. Charles Keter has said Kenya is in shortage of legal experts in Oil and Gas matters. Mr. Keter said the country was also in dire need of oil field and production Engineers support growth in oil exploration and reservoir.  “The oil sector is a new development in Kenya and we therefore require capacity to manage the industry.” said Keter.

Mr. Keter made the remarks today when he received the Norwegian Ambassador to Kenya Amb. Victor Renneberg who paid him a courtesy call at his Nyayo House office in Nairobi.

The CS hailed the cordial diplomatic relations between Kenya and Norway, adding that Kenya looked forward to tapping oil and petroleum expertise from Norway to enhance capacity in the local energy sector.

Amb. Ronnerberg said his country had invested 300million dollars in various programs within Kenya’s Energy industry and assured Kenya that his country will provide the necessary support in capacity building and oil revenue management.
